LEAD-NIGERIA SELECTS COHORT 11 FOR THE LEAD-ASSOCIATESHIP PROGRAMME 2005/2006

Each year since 1992 LEAD-Nigeria, as a Member Programme of LEAD International, follows a commonly adopted set of criteria, to select through an open and highly competitive process, a new Cohort of mid-career professionals from a variety of sectors in the country, currently, for the 30 days spread over a period of 12 months on-the-job training in leadership, environment and development.  Each cohort of Associates is drawn from a wide range of professional and disciplinary backgrounds, and represents a balance between genders and between different geographical areas of Nigeria.

LEAD-Nigeria has recently concluded the recruitment exercise for Cohort 11 Associates and has, in fact, offered final admission to eleven applicants who will commence the training programme by attending the First National Training Session  scheduled for April 4-8, 2005 in Lagos, Nigeria.

The main objective of the first National Training Session is to introduce the newly selected Associates to the methodology, vision and mission of the LEAD Programme, and also to some concepts in environmental science, ecology, energetics, atomic theory and economics.  Other fundamental concepts such as Sustainable Development; Leadership; and National Environment and Development Profile and Problems will also be covered.  A Skill Module on Group Dynamics and Teambuilding will be delivered at the Session.
