Mrs. Fatima Sa’ad Abubakar attended the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria where she obtained a B.Sc. Degree in 1975 and a Post-graduate Diploma in Public Administration in 1980. 

Mrs. Abubakar has an impressive public service career.  She was Permanent Secretary, Internal Affairs and Special Services in Gongola State, Nigeria between 1982 and 1987.  She had served on many important committees set up the State Government including – Committee for Rural Women; Advisory Committee on Political Transition; State Security Council; Committee of Women and Development and Emergency Relief Committee.   She became the Director General, Internal Affairs and Special Service in the same State until her retirement from the State Public Service.

Mrs. Abubakar is currently Her Excellency the Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Botswana.
